Bariapada: In a heart-wrenching incident, the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) of Rairangpur in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district died reportedly after meeting with an accident this evening. The SDJM has been identified as Smaranika Pradhan.
Smaranika met with the accident after her car hit an electric pole near Chainebeda Chhak on NH-49 under Jashipur Police Station limits. She was rushed to the Jashipur hospital in a critical condition following the road mishap. However, doctors declared her dead.
The road mishap reportedly took place after the SDJM’s car skidded off the road and hit the roadside electric pole while she was going to her native village in the Krushnaprasad area of Puri district along with her husband.
Smaranika was slated to attend the Rath Yatra in Puri tomorrow and then go to her native village to take part in the inauguration of the village temple.
Meanwhile, Jashipur Police has started an investigation into the matter.
