Bhubaneswar: Police have arrested an employee of a private company from Laxmisgar area today for allegedly raping a girl on pretext of providing her a job.
The accused has been identified as Jay Kumar, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
As per a complaint filed against Kumar at Laxmisagar police limits, he had called up the victim girl to a city hotel to appear in a job interview, for which she had applied earlier. However, much to the shock of the victim, Kumar sexually harassed her during the process.
Laxmisagar Police swung into action after the victim lodged a complaint in connection with the case later and arrested Kumar.
Medical examination of the accused has been completed and he is being interrogated currently in connection with the case, said police.
