Prawn factory staff hacked by miscreants in Balasore

Balasore: A prawn factory staff sustained critical injuries after being hacked by unidentified miscreants in Panapana village under Khantapada police limits in Balasore district last night.

The victim has been identified as Dillip Das, a Supervisor of Falcon prawn factory located in the same area.

As per the report, Das, a resident of Kasaba Jaipur village had been to a rented house in Panapana to have a business talk with his staff late last night when an unidentified person called him out. After Das went out, a group of attackers who were waiting there hacked him with sharp weapons and fled away.

The victim was rushed to Khantapada Community Health Centre (CHC) with critical leg, hand and stomach injuries for treatment. He was later shifted to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).

Police have lodged a case in connection with the attack and started an investigation. A past rivalry is being suspected in the attack.
