Sambalpur: A jawan of the Odisha Special Armed Police (OSAP) was arrested for allegedly harassing and threatening a class-IX girl in Dhanupali area of Odisha’s Sambalpur district.
The jawan has been identified as Suresh Bibhar (30) of Gadaloisingh village.
According to reports, Bibhar had a one-sided love affair with the minor girl and he had even proposed her a few months back. However, the girl had rejected his proposal, which infuriated him to no end.
To avenge rejection, the accused started harassing the girl repeatedly over phone, even threatening to kill her.
Bibhar was arrested by the police on basis of the complaint filed by the girl. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
