Cuttack: The Orissa High Court has put a blanket ban on sand mining said reliable reports in this regard on Wednesday.
The High Court again banned sand lifting by machines. An interim stay has been issued on the notification of the Department of Mines.
The notification was issued by the Department of Mines on December 21. It allowed lifting of sand by machines as per requirement. This notification was challenged in the High Court. In response of which the Court said that there will be a ban on sand mining till the next hearing.
The next hearing of the case will be on February 1, 2024.
