Open firing in Bhubaneswar; 2 injured

Two people were critically injured after some miscreants open fired on them in Odisha's Capital City of Bhubaneswar.

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, two people were critically injured after some miscreants open fired on them in Odisha’s Capital City of Bhubaneswar. The incident has come to the fore from Jharpada under Laxmi Sagar police limits of the Capital city.

The injured were identified as Sikhar Jena and his son Rinku Jena, residents of Jharpada area.

According to sources, during a feast at the Kalyan mandap at lane number one of the Jagannath Nagar, heated argument took place between two groups. The argument turned ugly and members of the other group started firing. Due to open firing, the father-son duo got injured. Following the incident, the miscreants fled from the spot.

The injured were immediately rushed to the nearby hospital. Both are undergoing treatment presently, and the health condition is said to be stable now.

After receiving information, police reached the spot and started to probe into the matter. It is suspected that the argument took place due to disagreement over political views.
