One injured as school van hits car and bike at CRPF Square in Bhubaneswar

At least one person was injured after a school van hit a Baleno car, which subsequently hit a bike at CRPF Square of Bhubaneswar this afternoon.

Bhubaneswar: At least one person was injured after a school van hit a Baleno car, which subsequently hit a bike at CRPF Square of Bhubaneswar this afternoon.

As per the eyewitnesses, a Tata Magic Express, with six school students, was going towards the CRPF Square from the Villa Chhaka area at around 3.40 PM. However, it reportedly hit a pillar of the pedestrian track and then to a Baleno car from behind. The Baleno car subsequently hit a biker who was standing infront of the four-wheeler.

Speaking to Kalinga Tv an eyewitness said, “We rushed to the vehicle and rescued all the children safely. We also rescued the driver of the ill-fated vehicle with much difficulty as he was stuck between two vehicles.”

When asked whether it was a case of drunk driving, the eyewitness said that the driver was not drunk when we rescued him. However, he (the driver) claimed that he lost control over the wheels of the vehicle and hit the car as he got fits. However, the entire incident has been captured by the CCTV cameras installed near the accident spot.

While the injured biker was rushed to the hospital for treatment, the local police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
