Odisha to witness heatwave for next 3 days

Bhubaneswar: The temperatures will rise across Odisha for the next three days, informed the regional center of India Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar.

As per the reports, the State will experience the heatwaves till May 23. Adding to it, the mercury is likely to touch 39 to 40 degrees Celsius in Bhubaneswar.

Earlier on Friday, Boudh witnessed the highest temperature of the day in the State today as it recorded 43 degrees Celsius temperature followed by Sonepur as it reported a temperature of 42.8 degrees Celsius.

Likewise, 10 places recorded a maximum day temperature of 40 degrees Celsius and above.

It is pertinent to mention that the residents of coastal areas have been experiencing the maximum effect of the heatwave as the humidity level ranges from 65 to 85 percent.

Meanwhile, a low-pressure area had formed over the Bay of Bengal which later intensified into a depression. However, it changed its path toward Myanmar. Hence, it will have no effect on Odisha.

It is to be noted that mercury is likely to fall with the onset of rainfall from May 24.
