Odisha-Chhattisgarh border checking underway, Rs. 3.69 lakh cash seized

Bhubaneswar: Checks are being tightened at the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border. Khariar Road Police seized rupees 3 lakh 69 thousand rupees during the inspection at the border on Thursday evening.

The money was going from Nuapada area to Raipur in a pickup van. It is certain from police sources that the owner of the pickup van was identified as Mohammad Akbar. Police informed that this money was seized from Mohammad Akbar’s vehicle.

The police confiscated the money due to lack of necessary documents. As the owner of the vehicle, Muhammad Akbar, could not give any answer about the money, the police seized the money.

The police said that the money will be returned if the documents are submitted. Vigorous scrutiny is going on to make the elections free, fair and impartial. The flying squad is seizing money and valuables in the current election.
