Odisha reports 340 Covid-19 cases, 5 deaths

Bhubaneswar: A total of 340 Covid-19 positive cases including 50 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 10,35,417, informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Monday.

Among the 340 positives, there are 199 quarantine cases and 141 local contact cases. The new recovery cases stands at 508, taking the total number of 10,22,250. Hence, the number of active cases stands at 4,824.

Besides, the state pool has 36 new covid cases.

Meanwhile, the State Health & Family Welfare Department informed about the death of five COVID infected patients, taking the death toll to 8,290 after due completion of death audit process. The list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1. A 50 years old Female of Baragarh District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension & Chronic Kidney Disease.

2. A 76 years old Male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Hypothyroidism, Acute Kidney Infection & Chronic Kidney Disease.

3. A 39 years old Male of Jharsuguda District who was also suffering from Diabetic Retinopathy.

4. A 60 years old Male of Sundargarh District.

5. A 91 years old Female of Sundargarh District.
