Bhubaneswar: The Odisha police felicitated an expedition team, comprising of 42 commandos of National Security Guard (NSG) riding on 15 Royal Enfield motorcycles, here on Sunday.
The team began their journey from Manesar in Haryana on Sept 7 to spread the message of collective responsibility in the fight against terror while commemorating NSG’s 33 years of service to the nation.
The Commandos were accorded a rousing reception at the Commissionerate police headquarter here in the capital city. DGP, Odisha Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sharma, Addl. D.G. of Police Satyajit Mohanty , Commissioner of Police Y.B.Khurania, I.G. of Police, Operations R.P.Koche, DCP Headquarters Anupama James and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
Dr. Sharma complimented the working style and calibre of the NSG. He congratulated NSG DG Sudheer Pratap Singh for his endeavour. He also said, the NSG would achieve more success under the guidance of Singh.
The expedition, with the theme ‘Fighting against terror: a collective responsibility’, has already travelled 5500 km covering eight States before it reached Berhampur on Sept 30. It will also travel another 3000 km covering seven more states to reach its base camp on October 16.
