Odisha CM announces 25% hike in salaries of outsourced staff

Bhubaneswar: In a major development Odisha government on Wednesday announced 25 percent hike in the remuneration of the Contractual workers and staff appointed via outsourcing agencies.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced about the hike today as per a release issued from the CMO.  As many as 33 thousand people will be benefited off this hike. Odisha Government will reportedly spend Rs 100 cr per annum towards this additional cost.

The outsourcing agencies will pay the EPF and ESI dues of these contractual workers. The departmental authority where they are engaged will ensure it.

The CM has also issued directives to take strong action against the agencies for neglect in paying the EPF, ESI due of the contractual workers.

Besides, these contractual workers will be allowed 12 days of leave in a year, the CM also directed.

Similarly, the CM has advised the concerned Authorities to take decision regarding maternity leave to such pregnant women workers.
