Angul: A girl from Odisha’s Angul district allegedly committed suicide yesterday, after a video that depicted her went viral on the social media.
According to reports, the victim, a resident under Bantala police limits in the district consumed poison at around 4 PM yesterday. She was rushed to the District Head Quarter Hospital here in a critical condition. However, all the efforts of the doctors couldn’t save her life.
Sources said, the deceased was in a relationship with a youth from Talcher area. Both were engaged in video calling, during which she had exposed her private parts to her lover. However, the accused had captured a clip from the video calls and uploaded the same on social media.
Humiliated with her obscene pictures went viral on social media, the helpless girl allegedly decided to end her life by consuming poison, sources added.
Meanwhile, her family members filed an FIR against the youth with Bantala police station in this connection.
