Odisha: 12-hour bandh hits normal life in Bhuban

Kamakhyanagar: Normal life was crippled in Bhuban town under this block in Dhenkanal district Friday due to a 12-hour bandh call given by the Regional Development Committee demanding filling up of doctor posts at Bhuban hospital.

Vehicular traffic has been affected on NH-53 in the town due to the dawn to dusk bandh. Several vehicles were seen stranded in both side of the road. Educational institutions and business establishments also remained closed today.

The protestors resorted to picketing and road blockade in important junctions in the town. They also threatened to intensify their strike if the government fails to address their demand at the earliest.
