Cuttack: Three days after locals resorted to agitation after cracks appeared on Palasuni flyover in Bhubaneswar, panic gripped commuters on Cuttack-Bhubaneswar route as major cracks appeared on Kathajodi bridge in Cuttack today.
The cracks were seen on the sidewall of the bridge and portion of the road connecting Gopalpur and Link Road.
Officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and police reached the spot immediately and barricaded the area to prevent plying of vehicles on the portion of the road.
Cuttack-Barabati MLA Mohammed Moquim also made a spot visit to take stock of the situation. The Congress legislator said that he will take up the matter with the concerned authorities.
