Odisha CM distributes land pattas to slums dwellers, assures ‘pucca’ house by 2022

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik distributed land pattas (record of rights) to 10,000 slum dwellers at Janta Maidan here today.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “The happiness in the lives of the poor is my satisfaction. Protecting their interests is important for me and I will keep working for them. Not a single slum resident would be left out without a “pucca” house by 2022.”

Praising the women force of Mission Shakti for being the medium of development of the state, Patnaik said, “My Government has fulfilled all the promises made to the people. Earlier, the women of Mission Shakti were given loan with one per cent interest rate, but now it has been cut to zero per cent interest rate. Similarly, the Jaga Mission for the people residing in various slums in the city is the first of its kind in the country.”

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also laid foundation stone for 40 projects worth around Rs 1,160 Crore of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL), Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) and Tourism Department.

Besides, the CM Minister also laid the foundation stone for seven projects involving roads and buildings by the Public Works Department.

Patnaik also inaugurated a housing project at Rangamatia and Nirman Shramik Rahani Sthal at Kharvel Nagar worth about Rs 59 Crore.
