Odisha Cabinet approves 12 projects including Bhubaneswar-Cuttack metro rail line

Odisha Cabinet chaired by Chef Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved a total of 12 projects including the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack metro rail line.

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet chaired by Chef Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved a total of 12 projects of 11 departments including the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack metro rail line.

As per the decision, the State Cabinet approved DPR for construction of Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Project Phase I from Bhubaneswar Airport to Trisulia Square at a cost of Rs 5929.38-crore.

Between the Airport and Trisulia, which is 26 Km long stretch, will be 20 stations at Capital Hospital, Raj Mahal Square, Vani Vihar Square, Jayadev Vihar Square and Patia Square in

Government of Odisha has taken a decision for construction of Berhampur Ring Road from 0km to 12/300 km in the district of Ganjam through EPC mode of contract. The road project is expected to boost development in Berhampur, Chhatrapur and Gopalpur town and to ease out traffic in Berhampur town.

State Cabinet have approved the lowest EPC tender of Ashribad Eng. & Constructions Pvt. Ltd. in JV with M/S R.K. Infracorp Pvt. Ltd. amounting to Rs 156,51,57,750 only for execution of the work, which is targeted to be completed within a period of 24 months.

The State Cabinet also approved construction of barrage across Rushikulya river near Janililli village of Ganjam district including hydro-mechanical works, power connectivity works, road connectivity, staff quarters, including survey, investigation, planning, design and estimate of all components with operation and maintenance of the project for a period of five years or five flood season whichever is more after successful commissioning of the project.

The Cabinet has approved the tender for the work for an execution cost amounting to Rs 86,54,00,000 only excluding GST and O&M cost for five years amounting to Rs 1 crore only. The projected will be completed within two years.

 

Meanwhile, the cabinet also approved the “Ama Hospital” programme which has been launched under the 5T initiative earlier this year aiming to transform and strengthen the public health infrastructure at district headquarter hospitals, sub-divisional hospitals, community health centres and primary health centres across the state.

“Under this initiative, the state government is making all efforts to transform all Public Health Facilities at DHH, SDH, CHC and PHC level in a phased manner to be oriented towards patient comfort and care,” the press release reads.

Under the scheme, the health facilities across the state will have improved patient waiting area with all basic patient amenities, help desk with maps to guide the patients and their attendants to access the services in hospitals, opening of more number of drug distribution counters, hygienic toilet facilities, paved internal roads with sheds, attendant rest sheds, digital display boards, online registration system etc.

The state government will spend Rs 3388.73 crore to implement the scheme at 1858 public health facilities in the state in a phased manner during 2023-24 to 2027-28. In the first year, 149 public health facilities are being strengthened.

The government has also decided to make amendments in the Odisha Regulation-2 being enforced in Scheduled areas of the state so that the tribals can transfer their lands to non-tribals with permission from the Sub Collector or the Collector.

Several other important proposals were approved by the state cabinet in today’s meeting too.
