Odisha: Balasore District Administration Initiates Process To Deport Four Convicted Bangladeshi Nationals

Balasore: The district administration has initiated the process to deport four Bangladeshi nationals who were convicted for a series of dacoity incidents in the district.

Police said that as many as six Bangladeshi nationals were arrested in 2007 for series of dacoity incidents and were subsequently convicted with rigorous imprisonment for 14 years.

“While two of them were subsequently shifted to other jail while four of them remained at Balasore District Jail. However, all of them were released two years before their jail term for good behaviour. All of them walked out of the jail last month,” said a police official.

However, all of the four Bangladeshi nationals hailing from Faridpur district are facing problems to return for not having passports and other documents. The district administration has arranged their stay at the jail barrack.

District administration officials said that they have intimated the matter to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in Kolkata. “We have also communicated the matter to the office of the Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi,” said an official.
