Balangir: An anganwadi worker was abducted by four miscreants in broad daylight in Kantabanji area in Odisha’s Balangir district on Saturday.
The victim has been identified as Mukta Panika of Badhanpalli village in the district.
According to reports, the incident took place when Mukta along with her fellow worker, identified as Lakshmipriya Nag, was returning home in a two-wheeler.
The four miscreants in mask came in an SUV and intercepted the anganwadi workers in an isolated area and forcefully kidnapped Mukta, leaving Lakshmipriya unhurt.
Lakshmipriya immediately informed the incident to victims’s family members, following which they lodged a complaint at Kantabanji police station in this connection.
Meanwhile, Police launched a manhunt drive to trace the victim and zero in on the kidnappers.
