Odisha: 3 of a family killed in gas cylinder blast

Bhawanipatna : Three members of a family were charred to death and one person sustained critical injury when an LPG cylinder exploded in their house in Thanata village near Dharmagarh in Odisha’s Kalahandi district on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as 42 -year-old Champa Meher, her daughter Sunita (8) and son Amit (5) of the village.

Another family member, who sustained severe burn injuries, was rushed to local hospital. His condition was stated to critical.

According to reports, the mishap occurred when Champa was preparing breakfast on gas stove this morning.

Neighbours said that the impact of the explosion was so severe that tremors were felt even in houses that were located 50 metres away.
