Cuttack: Chauliaganj Police on Monday arrested the husband of the deceased Odia TV and film actress Laxmipriya Behera alias Nikita over her death.
According to reports, Chauliaganj Police arrested Nikita’s husband Lipan Sahu after interrogation over the matter.
Lipan was detained by the cops for interrogation yesterday after the deceased actress’ family members filed a police complaint alleging that she has been murdered.
In his FIR, Nikita’s father Sanatan Behera had leveled murder allegation against her husband and mother-in-law. He had claimed that the duo had killed Nikita due to family problems.
Acting on Sanatan’s complaint, the cops had registered a case under Section 302, 306, 341 and 498 (A) of the IPC.
The actress and Lipun had tied the knot on November 25, 2016. They have a six-month-old baby boy.
Sources at the police said that further investigation into the matter is underway and the accused. if found any, will be arrested.
