Cuttack: While mystery still shrouds the death of popular Odia TV and film actress Laxmipriya Behera alias Nikita, the case has taken a new twist today with her family members alleging that she has been murdered.
In the latest development, Nikita’s father Sanatan Behera leveled murder allegation against her mother-in-law and husband. Besides, the actress’ father filed a written complaint at Chauliaganj Police Station here this evening.

Acting on Sanatan’s complaint, the cops registered a case under Section 302, 306, 341 and 498 (A) of the IPC. Besides, they have detained Nikita’s husband Lipan Sahoo for interrogation over the matter.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Nikita admitted to a private hospital in Cuttack yesterday following a head injury after falling from the terrace of the house. However, she breathed her last while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Police are yet to receive the postmortem report of Behera who has acted in more than 100 Odia albums and several TV shows including ‘Tapasya’ and ‘ACP Nikita’. Besides, she was also featured in some
