Kamakhyanagar: In a tragic incident, a truck ran over a mother-son duo, crushing them to death. The accident took place in Kamakhyanagar in Odisha’s Dhenkanal.
The deceased mother-son have been identified as Runu Pradhan and Lipu Pradhan respectively. The tragic accident took place in Kuturia village, under the limits of Mahabirod police station.
Reportedly, the accident in Dhenkanal which killed the mother-son, took place during the late night hours of Monday.
As per reports from reliable sources, the family of six was sleeping outside in a field. The truck allegedly veered off its track, causing the unfortunate incident. The mother-son were killed on spot while the remaining four members of the family had a narrow escape.
Reportedly, the truck driver ran away from the spot after the incident. The family was from Belabasanta village. They were known to move from village to village in order to raise and support their family.
Officials from the Mahabirod police station reached at the location and have initiated a probe into the matter. They are currently investigating to determine the exact circumstances of the accident. Further details into the matter awaited.
