Monsoon Session of Odisha Assembly to begin today

Bhubaneswar: The Monsoon Session of Odisha Assembly will begin today and continue till September 20, 2018. There will be a total of 11 working days in the session.

The Naveen Government will introduce some important Bills in this session, including ruling for the establishment of Vidhan Parishad in the State.

Opposition Congress and BJP may corner the BJD government over various issues including Puri Ratna Bhandar missing key row, corruption charges on account of newly constructed Gurupriya bridge in Malkangiri, farmers’ plight, failure of ambulance service in many parts of the State among others.

Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police has beefed up security at the Assembly and surrounding areas in view of the Monsoon Session.

As many as 32 platoons of police force, 2 platoons of  SOG, 5 DCP and 12 DSP rank officers along with 50 inspectors  have been deployed keeping in view of the security at the Assembly.
