Man hospitalized after foiling crocodile attack in Kendrapara

Kendrapara: In a close shave, a man saved himself from the clutches of a saltwater crocodile in Rajpur village under Rajnagar block of Kendrapara district this morning.

The critically hurt victim identified as Bhagabat Rout of the same village was taking bath in Brahmami River at around 6 am in the morning when the mishap took place. A large estuarine crocodile pounced on him and took a bite of his left elbow. While Rout successfully foiled the attack of the crocodile and managed to release his hand, he also sustained grievous injury.

Hearing the screaming of the victim some locals rushed to the spot and rescued him after driving away the crocodile by stone pelting.

Locals rushed the victim to Rajnagar Community Health Centre (CHC) and then shifted to Kendrapara DHH for treatment.
