Man found dead in in-laws village in Odisha, family brings murder allegations

In a tragic incident, a man was found dead in his in-laws village in Balangir district of Odisha, said reports on Wednesday. 

Kantabanji: In a tragic incident, a man was found dead in his in-laws village in Balangir district of Odisha, said reports on Wednesday.

Reports say that, the man was electrocuted by his in-laws and killed in Malpada village of Kantabanji area under Bongomunda police station limits of Balangir district.

The deceased man has been identified as Bansi Thela of Bhalumunda village. He had allegedly been to Malpada village where he was allegedly killed late at night.

According to available reports, Bansi Thela was living in his in-laws village since a long time. He had gone with his brother-in-law to catch fish to a pond nearby.

Later in the morning today, his body was found floating in the pond. The locals immediately informed the police on spotting the body. The police reached the spot and recovered the body.

Upon further investigation, the police found that there was a live wire right next to the spot where he was sitting and catching fish.

The family members of Bansi have alleged that the live wire was intentionally laid there to kill him. A written complaint has been registered with the police in this regard.

The police has started a detailed investigation into the matter, the reason of the death shall be ascertained once the postmortem report is obtained.
