Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal Postpones Hearing To July 13

Bhubaneswar: The Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal on Saturday postponed its hearing on the Mahandi water-sharing dispute between Odisha and Chhattisgarh to July 13.

The hearing was postponed after both the states asked four weeks of time after failing to convene the third coordination meeting due to cyclone Fani, that ravaged coastal Odisha on May 3.

Earlier in March, while hearing the interim petition filed by Odisha, the tribunal had asked both the state governments to hold another round of talks to resolve the Mahanadi water sharing dispute amicably.
