Area-Wise List Of Power Restoration Drive In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Eight days after the extremely severe cyclonic storm Fani wreaked havoc in the state, residents of the capital city are facing numerous hardships, battling the scorching heat without electricity and mobile connectivity.

A few days back, State Information and Public Relations Secretary Sanjay Singh had informed that 80 per cent electricity will be restored in Bhubaneswar by May 10 and the city will see complete power supply restoration by May 12.

However, if the Bhubaneswar Electrical Division’s latest release is to be believed, power supply will be restored in various parts of the capital as per the schedule given in the following list.

On the telecom front, the restoration work has witnessed slow progress, as only 14 per cent of mobile towers and other infrastructure remained unaffected by Cyclone Fani.

Noteworthy, restoring power and telecommunication facilities are the top priorities in relief efforts in the cyclone-ravaged parts of Odisha, including the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack as well as temple town Puri.

The National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC), under Cabinet Secretary PK Sinha has directed the Ministry of Power and Department of Telecommunications to coordinate with the Odisha Government for the same.
