Bargarh: In a Diwali mishap, a lodge cleaning staff died of electrocution after coming in contact with high voltage transmission line in Padampur area in Bargarh district on Wednesday.
The victim has been identified as Rohit Bag (25), a resident of Umadera village in Jharuguda district.
Rohit, who was staying with his family in Padampur area and was working in Sitaram Inn lodge was engaged in cleaning activity for Diwali celebration when the mishap took place in the morning. He unknowingly touched a sagged 11 KV electric transmission line unknowingly and died on the spot.
After getting information on the mishap police reached the spot and rushed Rohit’s body for autopsy at a nearby hospital.
Holding the lodge authority responsible for Rohit’s death his family has alleged that safety equipment had not been provided to him during the cleaning work which was proved fatal.
The owner of the guest house has surrendered before the police.
