Mayurbhanj: The locals have staged a road blockade due to the scarcity of water in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, said reports on Tuesday. The administration had allegedly ignored the woes of the people.

The villagers blocked the road with their buckets for drinking water. The Baripada – Udala State Highway was blocked by the locals. More than a thousand people living in the village have been instrumental in blocking the road. But there is only one well for drinking water. That too gets dry most of the time.

Villagers have repeatedly complained to the administration to resolve the problem, but nothing has been resolved. So they were forced to protest on the road and blocked the road by placing the bucket. As a result, the traffic between Baripada and Udala has come to a standstill. Baripada Town police station has reached the spot and is placating the locals.
