Jagatsinghpur: In a bizarre incident police today seized a cartoon of liquor from Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital. The stock of illegal liquor was found from a room kept reserved for security guards of the hospital.
Police said that they raided the room after getting complaints from attendants of the patients visiting the hospital. “Attendants of the patients informed the matter to the hospital authorities which lodged a formal complaint. We are further investigating to find out the person who has stocked liquor at the hospital,” said a police official.
Police suspect one security guard of running illegal liquor business at the government-run hospital. “We suspect liquor being sold with hefty margin to attendants of patients. We have also detained a few security guards for further questioning,’ added the police official.
Later in the day, state health minister Naba Kishore Das ordered an inquiry into the incident. The minister has also sought a report from CDMO within 3 days.
