Bhubaneswar: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), the concerned authority who manages the functionalities of the KVs has transferred the Physical Education (PE) teacher of KV No.3 after a girl student of the institute attempted suicide after being allegedly harassed by the teacher.
“SM Pattnaik, TGT(P&HE) KV No.3, Bhubaneswar is hereby temporarily transferred to KV Vyasnagar with immediate effect till further orders,” said an office order issued by Deputy Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Bhubaneswar Region.
A class XI student of the institute has attempted suicide after she was allegedly thrashed by the teacher in front of other students during a practice session on Friday. The girl with fractures in both of her legs is currently undergoing treatment at a Bhubaneswar based private hospital.
Following the incident, parents of students of KV-3, located at Gadakan area, had sat on dharna in front of regional office of KVS demanding action against the woman PE teacher.
