Metro railway in Bhubaneswar, survey starts from Vani Vihar to Sishu Bhawan square

Bhubaneswar: The survey for the Metro railway in Bhubaneswar has been started from Vani Vihar to Sishu Bhawan square, said reports on Friday. Reports say, the detailed survey was conducted for the metro railway in Bhubaneswar project.

According to latest reports, a special team including the Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation has started a survey from Vani Vihar to Sishu Bhawan square. The team includes representatives of BMC, BDA, Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited, TPCODL, GAIL, BSNL, WATCO and Commissionerate Traffic.

Due to the severe summer heatwave, a public road survey for the construction of the railway has been conducted in the morning hours. In particular, electricity poles, water pipes, telephone lines, gas pipelines in proposed metro stations and metro roads will be removed. That is why the survey has been started from today.

According to the plan, in the first phase, a metro line will be connected from Bhubaneshwar Airport to Cuttack Trishulia. It is estimated that eight thousand crore rupees will be spent for the 26 km metro line.

The metro track will stand on about 450 pillars. There will be seven to eight stations for the metro project between Airport and Trishulia at places like Master Canteen, Vani Vihar, Jaydev Vihar, Chandrasekharpur, Patia and Nandankanan.

If the metro project becomes a reality, it will take only 15 minutes to reach Cuttack from Bhubaneshwar and 30 minutes to Puri. The state government plans to complete the project work within 3 years after the preparation of the plan for Bhubaneswar Metro.
