Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has awarded Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) as the best institution in energy conservation. On the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day, today, Energy secretary Hemant Sharma handed over the Odisha State Energy Conservation award 2018 to KISS in a state level function.
Earlier, an assessment had been conducted in different institutions of the state by the state nodal agency. The award has been given on the basis of exemplary steps taken by institutes on energy conservation. KISS got the award for curbing misuse of electricity, electric energy conservation and maximum utility using minimum energy.
Contented by the award founder of KiiT and KISS Dr Achyuta Samanta said that a number of steps have been taken in KISS and KiiT to check misuse of electric energy. Energy conservation is the need of the day. Everybody should be aware of it.
