JE Arrested By Vigilance Sleuths While Taking Bribe In Odisha’s Keonjhar

Keonjhar: A Junior Engineer (JE) at Saharpada block in Keonjhar district was arrested by Vigilance sleuths on charges of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 7,500 today.

The JE has been identified as Bibhuti Bhusan Pradhan. As per reports, he demanded bribe from a contractor named Hemant Mahanta to pass a bill pertaining to some renovation work of a community centre.

After Mahanta launched a complaint, the vigilance sleuths planned a trap and caught the JE red-handed while accepting the bribe.

Post this, a vigilance team also conducted raids at his office and residence.
