‘Super 30’ Mathematician Anand Kumar In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Mathematician Anand Kumar was in the state capital yesterday to promote his biopic ‘Super 30’, starring Hrithik Roshan in the titular role.

The film chronicles the life story of Anand Kumar (played by Hrithik), an Indian mathematician’s journey from tutoring rich children in a top coaching centre to opening an institute of his own in order to teach the underprivileged children.

Directed by Vikas Bahl and produced by Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films, the film also stars Mrunal Thakur, Amit Sadh, and Nandish Sandhu in pivotal roles.

“It gives me immense joy when I see people appreciating this film. The story will definitely inspire people to push their boundaries. Those who are willing to work hard and go the extra mile will achieve success in their endeavors,” Kumar said.

On being asked about his first reaction after knowing that Hrithik will be portraying him on screen, Anand said- “The first time I met Hrithik, I was very happy because he had the most dedication and thrust to do this film. He constantly told me that ‘Anand ji, give me a year to prepare for this role.’ He had to tone down his physique and muscles. He also put in a lot of effort to talk and look like me. So, he asked for a year to prepare. When I saw this hunger in him, I knew that only Hrithik can do justice to this role.”

Meanwhile, after a good opening weekend on July 12 and steady run through the week, ‘Super 30’ has earned Rs. 75.85 cr. crore within first 7 days of its release. Despite facing competition from ‘The Lion King’, the film is slowly inching towards the 100-Crore mark.
