Jajpur: A family discord pushed a man to brutally attack his daughter-in-law, leaving her critically injured. He then went on to commit suicide. This distressing incident occurred at Badabaruneipada village under Panikoili Police Station here on Saturday.
The man has been identified as Damodar Behera and the victim as Shakuntala Behera.
As per the reports, Damodar, over a family feud, critically injured Shakuntala. She was immediately rushed to Cuttack SCB Medical College and Hospital. Meanwhile, Damodar hanged himself and committed suicide.
Filing of the report at Panikoili Police was delayed for unknown reasons. While the cause of the family discord has not been known yet, the Jajpur Panikoili Police have informed that they will go to Cuttack to record the statement of the daughter-in-law and continue with their investigation.
