Bhubaneswar: The IMD Regional Centre here has issued a thunderstorm and rain alert for at least 13 districts of Odisha till 5pm today.
As per the latest Nowcast released by the MeT department, light thunderstorm or lighting accompanied by light to moderate rainfall will lash one or two places in districts like Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Khordha, Nayagarh, Jajpur, Cuttack and Nayagarh between 2pm and 5pm.
As a precautionary measure people in these districts have been cautioned against moving out their homes during the alerted period to avoid eventuality.
