Malkangiri: With no respite in sight from flood woes in Malkangiri, several areas got inundated under rain water today due to heavy rain which lashed the upper catchment areas of various rivers last night.
As per the report, road communication got completely disrupted between Malkangiri and Balimela along with Kalimela and Motu as flood water continued to flow 7 feet over Korkunda bridge and 4 feet over MV-37 bridge this morning.
Similarly, flood situation remained grim in areas like Pangam and Poteru Kanyashram areas where several bridges got submerged under rain water leaving people stranded on both sides of the roads.
In view of the approaching flood-like situation the district administration has put the highly affected areas under close watch to deal with any kind of eventuality.
