Cuttack: Former Chief Secretary of Odisha Lalat Indu Parija passed away in a cardiac arrest at a private hospital in Cuttack today. He was 89.
Late Parija, son of eminent scientist Dr. Pranakrushna Parija had been appointed as the Chief Secretary of Odisha twice- for one month starting on March 1, 1983 and then on January 1, 1986 for more than a year.
He also became the Chairman of Orissa Public Service Commission (OPSC) during his service period.
A former captain of Orissa Ranji teams got his book ‘Fate Takes A Hand’ released at Cuttack on March 20 this year.
