Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police busted an adulterated sauce production unit at Mahaveer slum in Sailashree Vihar area here in Odisha last night. One person, identified as Aarta Singh, has been arrested in this connection.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Chandrasekharpur police conducted raid in the slum and seized the equipment used in producing the sauce.
Spurious tomato sauce, chili sauce and soy sauce were being produced at the unit using pumpkin, police sources said.
The accused Singh used to sell the adulterated sauces to small hotels and roadside eateries in Chandrasekharpur and Patia areas in the State capital at Rs 16 per bottle against the price tag of Rs 46, sources added.
