The 'quit steering' drivers strike has been called off in Odisha and transport has returned to normalcy said reports on Monday

Bhubaneswar: The ‘quit steering’ drivers strike has been called off in Odisha and transport has returned to normalcy said reports on Monday.

According to reliable reports, the strike was reportedly called off after the drivers’ discussion with the State government reached common grounds. The plying of vehicles shall be normal in the State.

The ‘quit steering’ agitation of the drivers had been staged over the new law on ‘hit and run’. After a discussion with the Government, the Driver Mahasangha President Prashanta Menduli appealed the drivers to return to work at the earliest.

The Transport Commissioner said that the drivers have suspended the agitation as the state government has fulfilled the demands of the drivers. The “Quit Steering” protest by the Odisha Drivers’ Mahasangha had started on January 5.
