Bhubaneswar: In yet another tragic incident, a couple was killed after their motorcycle was hit by an unknown vehicle near the Baramunda over-bridge under Khandagiri police station limits here on Wednesday.
The deceased persons have been identified as Upendra Nayak and his wife Lata Nayak. Upendra Nayak was an employee of the Regional Institute of Education (RIE) in the city.
As per reports, the mishap took place after the speeding vehicle coming from Khandagiri side hit the couple’s motorcycle, killing them instantly.
After the mishap, the driver of the vehicle fled from the spot. Meanwhile, the Khandagiri Police has registered a case against him and initiated a probe into the incident.
A manhunt has also been launched to nab the absconding driver.
