Compassion in duty & right attitude make all the difference in public service: Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday highly appreciated the work of a traffic police of Cuttack, who showed sensitivity and dutifulness to assist a differently-abled person recently.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Patnaik said, “Compassion in duty and right attitude make all the difference in public service. Appreciate Havildar Gyanendu Kumar Mallik of Traffic P.S. Cuttack for showing sensitivity, dutifulness to assist the differently abled.”


The Chief Minister’s appreciation for Mallik came after the Commissionerate Police shared a video of the incident recently.

In the 40-minute video, the Traffic Havildar was seen helping a differently-abled person by pushing his wheelchair in a crowded fair, which is yet to be known.

Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Police commissioner Satyajit Mohanty had on December 2 felicitated Gyanendu Mallick and Traffic Constable Rajalaxmi Baliarsing of Bhubaneswar, who also had shown her empathy and sensitive attitude towards a differently-abled person on a city road a few days ago.
