Phulbani: Kandhamal Collector took prompt action by suspending 3 officials from the Sevashram school in Baliguda and sending a notice to the residential school’s principal asking probe report.
A Class VIII student of a Sevashram school in Baliguda delivered a baby girl in her hostel on Sunday.
Amongst widespread protest at Baliguda, Odisha SC and ST Development Minister Ramesh Majhi had ordered Kandhamal Collector to conduct a probe into the incident and submit a report.

After collecting initial investigative report from local Police the Collector took swift action. She has suspended 3 officials- Hostel warden, Hostel Superintendent, and an ANM today. She has also removed 6 officials from their posts- 2 matrons, 1 ANM, 2 CCA and, 1 warden.
An additional 3 assistant hostel superintendents have also been suspended.
The minor mother and her newborn have been admitted to Baliguda Hospital where their health conditions are being checked, informs source.
