Class 10th & 12th Board Exams Postponed In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The annual Matric examinations and +2 examinations for the year 2021 have been postponed in view of the rising COVID-19 cases in the state, announced Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today.

According to sources, the state government will review the Covid situation and take decision to conduct the exams in the first week of June 2021.

The Chief Minister also has directed the concerned departments for closure of schools and hostels from April 19 (Monday).

Students of class 9th and 11th will be promoted to class 10th and 12th respectively without any examination, added sources.

The High School Certificate (HSC) or matric board examination which is being conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) was scheduled to be held between May 3 and May 15. Likewise, the 12th board examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) was slated to start from May 18 and continue till June 12.

Earlier, the Central Government had cancelled the CBSE Class-10 examinations and postponed the CBSE Class-12 examinations for this year due to the Covid pandemic.
