Burglars loot Rs 3.5 lakh, gold jewellery from house in Dhenkanal

Kamakhyanagar:  In a midnight heist, a group of burglars robbed Rs 3.5 lakh along with gold ornaments weight 13 gram from a Central Electricity Supply Utility of Orissa (CESU) employee’s house in Tumusingha area under Dhenkanal district yesterday. The victim also sustained in the attack of looters.

As per the report, a group of five masked looters barged into the victim Manoj Sahu’s house located at Pandua Chhak under Tumusingha police limits at around 9.30 pm in the night and put him at the gunpoint. Later they took away Rs 3.5 lakh along with gold ornaments breaking his almirah.

Sahu sustained injury on his left hand after the miscreants attacked him with a ‘bhujali’ (sharp weapon) as he showed some resistance during the loot.

Before leaving the spot loot items, the looters locked the door of the house from outside.

Pandua Police reached the spot after the victim family came out of the house by breaking the locks and called up it.
