Bhadrak: Adding to the growing incidents of newborn abandonment in the State, another baby found dead in Trisulput area on NH 16 in Bhadrak district on Saturday.
Some commuters spotted a carton dumped near the National Highway this morning and found the dead body of the newborn kept inside it after reaching the spot out of curiosity. They called up local police and informed the matter.
Police have sent the body of the newborn for autopsy after reaching the spot.
While an investigation has been ordered into the incident, locals are suspecting that somebody might have brought the body from a nearby hospital and dumped there after death of the newborn.
