BJP Yuva Morcha activists tussle with police in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of BJP Yuva Morcha activists were arrested after they tussled with the police while agitating near the State Secretariat here on Thursday.

Hundreds of BJP activists had staged a protest against the state government alleging that it has failed to provide employment opportunities to the youths of the state.

Some of the agitators hurled eggs, tomatoes, stones and water pouches at the police and tried to barge into the State Assembly by breaking the police barricades. They had a tussle with the police which prevented them from entering the state Assembly, following which police arrested them to bring the situation under control.

BJP activists that included BJP Yuva Morcha chairperson Poonam Mahajan, general secretary Sourav Choudhury and state BJP Yuva Morcha president Tankadhar Tripathy were among the saffron party activists who were arrested by the police.
