Odisha Havildar-Sepoy-Constable Mahasangh calls off stir

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Police Havildar, Constable and Sepoy Mahasangh which had earlier given a call for a strike, starting from tomorrow, called off it following a dialogue with the State DGP today.

A dialogue was held between the Mahasangh delegates and the DGP RP Sharma at the latter’s camp office in the morning. During the meeting, Sharma conveyed the delegates about the State Government’s assurance to fulfil the pending four-point charter of demands by this evening, informed Santosh Satpathy, president of the Mahasangh.

Informing on several other decisions by the government to media Satpathy said, while earlier the treatment period of the policemen on duty was being considered as leave, the same will be considered as duty period from now onwards.

Similarly, seeking the permission of the DMET or the authorities of the government medical college and hospitals and DHHs for approval of reimbursement will not be required now, he added.

Notably, the Mahasangh members did their duty by wearing black badges as a mark of protest earlier today morning.
